YOGA INSTRUCTORS

Jill Thomas, R.Y.T. 200, owner and director of Kalitrea Yoga Studio, has been teaching yoga since 1997, and was certified from Moksha Yoga Center, Chicago, in 1998. She has been practicing yoga for over 15 years. Her teaching  draws heavily from Iyengar yoga, guided by her primary teacher Gabriel Halpern of the Yoga Circle in Chicago.  Her teaching style incorporates fun while learning alignment, body awareness, and the philosophy of yoga.   She is currently homeschooling her 16 year old daughter.  Jill also has a passion for horses, assists in the eventing horse trials that her daughter competes in, and studies the art of dressage (very much like yoga for horses).

Stephanie Small, R.Y.T. 200, graduate of Kalitrea Yoga Studio teacher training spring 2004, specializes in pre-natal yoga and beginner's yoga.  Her teaching style emphasizes being in the moment and finding your inner teacher.

Debra Gust, R.Y.T. 200, graduate of Kalitrea Yoga Studio teacher training spring 2004, is soft spoken and very passionate about yoga philosophy.  Debra's teaching focuses on balance and flexibility of mind and body for life.

Denise Yager, R.Y.T. 200, graduate of Kalitrea Yoga Studio teacher training spring 2004, loves teaching children and teens.  Denise assists students in exploring yoga in a safe and fun way.

Michael Hedrick has been a student of yoga since 2003 when an injury brought him to the practice.  Michael has worked with Jill as a private student for most of the past 6 years so he has a thorough understanding of yoga, both in the asana and the philosophy.  As a new teacher Michael would like to share with his students his passion for yoga, what it has done for his life, and what it could do for other's lives.  He will begin his teaching with a Men's Yoga Class this fall.

(sub) Jean Masukevich has been practicing yoga since 2000, and has a background in teaching children with special needs.  Her goal is to help individuals tap into their limitless potential through fun poses that build strength and flexibility as well as breath work which helps deal with the challenges of life.

(sub)Kate Halma, R.Y.T. 200, graduate of Kalitrea Yoga Studio teacher training spring 2004.  Kate continues to nurture her desire to learn more at every opportunity.  She is enthusiastic and energetic in her teaching style and pleased to share the benefits of yoga with all of her students.

(sub) Christine Miller, R.Y.T. 200, is a certified yoga instructor from the Temple of Kriya Yoga, Chicago, 2001. Christine has a softer teaching style while allowing students to explore their own edge.

(sub) Kathleen Rankhorn, R.Y.T. 200, is a certified yoga instructor from Forrest Yoga Institute, 2000. Kathleen has been teaching hatha yoga since 1999. She has had the good fortune to meet and study with many enlightened teachers and her style is most influenced by her closest teachers, Anna Forrest and Lama Surya Das.  Her teaching style emphasizes strength from the core, as well as promoting flexibility and relaxation.   Her practice is seeing the inner light in everyone, everything, and every moment.
